Work
From 2011 - 2024 I’ve worked in the beverage and service industry at some of the most prestigious groups and establishments in San Francisco and New York. I’ve also worked as a writing tutor for incoming freshman at Los Angeles City College. As of late, I’ve freelanced as a copywriter and technical writer for various brands and companies.
When it comes to the beverage industry, I’ve lead teams, taught cocktail classes, conducted courses on spirits, written menus, and consulted on opening establishments. In other venues, I’ve written copy, product descriptions, blog articles, white papers, and used AI and SEO platforms to help drive ranking upwards. I’ve also helped develop brand style-guides and worked on individual launches and campaigns for new releases.

Published Works
Here are examples of writing I’ve produced throughout the years. From product descriptions to research articles, these samples showcase a few different approaches.
Session Goods — Beautifully designed, functional cannabis glassware

Session Goods
Session Goods is a cannabis accessories company that my wife started with her co-founder in 2018. Session’s emphasis is on minimalist aesthetics in shape and form with general every-day use in mind. Over the years, I’ve contributed to press releases, copy for B2B, product descriptions, on-page SEO, and blog articles. I’ve also oversaw much of their brand style guide. Helping with all of these projects has opened me up to a lot of insights into the world of SEO, which I knew very little beforehand but a whole lot now. This article was a part of a series that merged light scientific research and cannabis.

[in] session
The ongoing blog, [in] session, is both a research driven platform to showcase emerging trends and voices in the cannabis industry and a tool to provide identity to the brand. In creating the blog, Session set out to dispel misconceptions they felt are culturally attached to cannabis while also establishing a space to promote the people, art, and practices that give the company inspiration. For this July 2024 article, Session wanted a lengthy piece that would map out the mechanics of their design processes from idea to object.
Couch.com — Reshaping the online furniture shopping experience.

The Vision
Couch.com is a comprehensive database for everything you need to know about purchasing a couch online. CEO Alex Back reached out to me to help with writing detailed reviews and research driven guides. These articles were drafted with strategic language meant to engage with readership and rank highly on Google. Couch.com’s primary demographics are millennials, Gen-Xers, young parents, and Gen-Z apartment dwellers. This research article means to educate the reader on “rub counts” and how to use this measurement in the shopping process.

The Results
Couch.com’s tone and voice relies on a laid-back and upbeat style as a means to eliminate the stress of couch shopping. Matching this style, I was asked to research and review 14 different products from affiliates. Using strategies that help hank high on Google, this 3000+ word piece ranked within most top-5 searches surrounding couches for pet owners.
Other Experience
Leadership is about seeing the final product through the processes, knowing how and when to jump in, identifying ways to improve on the fly, and acknowledging every contribution. When the end-result appears effortless, even if it does not immediately reflect the countless hours of work behind it, then it’s done well.
Seeing projects go from first-steps to completion.
Leadership experience. I’ve overseen multiple projects including events and launches in collaboration with high profile spirit companies.
Teaching experience. I’ve mentored team members and helped foster a creative environment where individuals were able to hone their skills and focus on their strengths.
Experience in projects and events. I’ve both led and assisted in seamlessly providing beverage services at events such as launch parties, weddings, gallery openings, and holiday events.
